Mulamwah Explains Why He Can’t Vibe With Oga Obinna

The ongoing rivalry between digital content creators David Oyando, alias Mulamwah, and Oga Obinna shows no signs of slowing down. In a recent disclosure, Mulamwah declared that he would refuse to board the same aircraft as Obinna, even for high-profile international engagements.

The comedian made the remarks when questioned about an upcoming trip to China organized by the Chinese Embassy for a delegation of Kenyan creatives. When asked how he would react if Obinna were included in the delegation, Mulamwah stated he would immediately postpone his travel plans.

“Nitaenda next… hiyo sasa nitaenda ingine… China haitoroki (I will catch the next one… China isn’t running away).” — Mulamwah

“Different Vibrations”: Why the Duo Stays Apart

Mulamwah clarified that his decision does not stem from pure hatred, but rather a fundamental mismatch in values, energy, and perspective. The comedian confirmed that he has permanently blocked Obinna across all his social media networks to protect his personal peace.

“It’s just a lot of things that are self-explanatory,” Mulamwah explained. “Our vibes don’t align. He might do something and see it as correct, whereas to me, it is not. So it’s not a matter of us hating each other, our views just don’t match.”

The Root of the Friction

The bad blood between the two entertainers intensified following an episode of Obinna’s online show featuring guest creator Dem Wa Facebook.

  • The Provocation: During the interview, Dem Wa Facebook claimed that online trolls were comparing Mulamwah’s newborn son (whom he shares with partner Ruth K) to the late comedy icon Papa Shirandula, prompting Obinna to burst into laughter.

  • The Fallout: Angered by the remarks targeting his child, Mulamwah blocked Obinna everywhere. Consequently, Obinna boycotted Mulamwah’s live comedy event, citing the digital block.

The hostility remains highly sensitive for both parties; Obinna recently made headlines after abruptly walking out of a live television interview when journalists attempted to question him regarding the feud.
