Victor Kanyari Claims Suspect in Geoffrey Mosiria Car Parts Theft Is Member of His Church
Prophet Victor Kanyari has claimed that one of the suspects accused of stealing car parts belonging to Geoffrey Mosiria is a member of his church and had previously benefited from his empowerment programme.
Speaking during a church service, Kanyari said he was shocked to learn that the suspect had allegedly used a motorcycle he had donated through the initiative before being linked to the alleged theft.
The preacher maintained that he had no prior knowledge of the incident and only learned about it after the suspect’s arrest.
“Aliiba na pikipiki yangu. Ni mtu wa kanisa langu,” Kanyari said.
Kanyari Says He Had Supported the Suspect
According to Kanyari, the suspect had recently approached him seeking help, explaining that he was unemployed and experiencing an eye problem.
The pastor said he offered the man financial assistance and had earlier donated a motorcycle to help him earn a living through legitimate work.
However, he was later informed that the same individual had been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of Mosiria’s car parts.
“Aliniambia hana kazi na ana shida ya macho. Nilimsaidia nikiamini angejisaidia kupitia biashara halali.”
Kanyari expressed disappointment over the allegations, saying the motorcycles were intended to create employment opportunities for young people, not to facilitate criminal activities.
Empowerment Initiative
The televangelist said he has donated more than 300 motorcycles over the years as part of a programme aimed at promoting self-employment among young people.
He noted that many beneficiaries have successfully used the motorcycles to operate transport and delivery businesses, enabling them to support themselves and their families.
At the same time, Kanyari acknowledged that not every recipient has used the opportunity responsibly.
“Nimepeana zaidi ya pikipiki 300 kusaidia vijana. Inasikitisha kuona wengine wakizitumia vibaya.”
Mosiria’s Crackdown on Theft
The alleged incident comes as Geoffrey Mosiria continues his campaign against vandalism and theft targeting motorists and public infrastructure in Nairobi.
Mosiria has frequently shared updates on social media about arrests linked to the theft of manhole covers, drainage grills and vehicle parts, while urging members of the public to report criminal activities to the authorities.
Police investigations into the alleged theft are ongoing, and authorities have not yet indicated whether additional suspects are being pursued or released further details about the case.
