“I’m in a new relationship now,” he shared. “As for my ex-wife and me, our divorce was finalized amicably, and she’s happy. We’re both in a great place—there’s no animosity between us.”
Ali Kiba and Amina married in April 2018 in an exclusive, high-profile ceremony held at Masjid Ummul mosque in Mombasa. The private event, reportedly funded by then-Governor Ali Hassan Joho (now Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs), barred media access and drew widespread attention. A follow-up celebration in Dar es Salaam was broadcast on Azam TV, fueling even more public interest. The couple appeared to enjoy a stable union for the first three years.
However, on January 8, 2021, Amina filed for divorce at the Chief Kadhi’s Court in Mombasa. She requested Sh200,000 in monthly child support for their two children and claimed the marriage had irretrievably broken down. In her court filings, Amina cited persistent conflicts involving Ali Kiba, his friends, and relatives who lived with them in Dar es Salaam. She also accused the singer of infidelity and a lack of respect.
Though Amina reportedly gave Ali Kiba opportunities to salvage the marriage, he only began making serious efforts—such as frequent trips to Mombasa—after she initiated legal proceedings. When the divorce was finally granted in 2022, tensions resurfaced publicly. Amina accused Ali Kiba on Instagram of stalling by refusing to sign the divorce papers. He denied the claim, insisting he had no issue signing.
Shortly after, Amina posted a symbolic image of a dove flying out of a cage on her Instagram stories, captioned “officially free,” signaling the official end of their marriage.
