Dr Ofweneke discusses how LGBTQ joke cot his his job
Dr Ofweneke recently sat down with his peer and YouTube show host, Oga Obinna and they had a rather interesting conversation that seems to have passed over most individuals heads: how he got fired for telling a joke.
One would think that because the Kenyan constitution enshrines one’s right to freedom of speech, and the fact that he is a comedian, his on-air humour would get a pass but it seems that his former boss, an as yet unnamed radio programmes controller didn’t get the memo on that.
So when he was on air and Dr Ofweneke made an LGBTQ joke, his gay boss was not having it. The joke had a lot to do with their sexual proclivity and activity and the repercussions of the same on the rectal muscles. I mean, we’ve all thought it. We’ve all joked about it but he got to do it on company time but at what cost?
