Geoffrey Mosiria To The Rescue As He Appeals For Help Of Child Needing Urgent Skull Surgery

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement, Geoffrey Mosiria, has highlighted a harrowing case of child abuse and resilience, calling on the public to help save a five-year-old girl in desperate need of specialized surgery.

In a statement shared on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Mosiria revealed the tragic circumstances that left the young girl fighting for her life at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) following a brutal betrayal by those sworn to protect her.

A Mother’s Worst Nightmare

The child’s ordeal began last year after her mother moved to Nairobi in search of work, leaving her children under the care of her brother. Two months later, the mother received the devastating news that her daughter had been allegedly assaulted by her own uncle, his wife, and their mother.

The assault resulted in severe head trauma, including a blood clot in the brain. The child was rushed to the ICU, where the situation was so dire that medical professionals suggested withdrawing life support.

“At one point, doctors advised the mother to consider withdrawing life support, but she pleaded for more time, and that decision gave her child a fighting chance,” Mosiria recounted.

The Long Road to Recovery

The girl has now spent nine months in the hospital. While she survived the initial trauma, the extent of the nerve damage has been life-altering. Currently, the child is unable to see, walk, talk, or sit, and remains dependent on machines to breathe.

Mosiria noted that previous appeals for the family saw Kenyans step up with financial aid and prayers, which allowed the mother to stay by her daughter’s side throughout the hospitalization.

An Urgent Appeal

The medical team has now recommended a specialized surgical procedure to implant a bone in the girl’s skull. This surgery is critical to protecting her brain and providing a foundation for potential nerve recovery.

The family is seeking to raise Ksh 150,000 to facilitate the operation.

“Let’s stand with her once again and give this child a chance at life,” Mosiria urged, calling on the spirit of “Harambee” to help the young survivor take the next step in her difficult journey toward healing.
