Gone, but not forgotten: Brian Chira’s grandma marks his death alone
Brian Chira’s grandmother, Esther Njeri, has moved many online after sharing an emotional moment marking two years since the TikToker’s passing.
In a video posted on her TikTok page on Monday, March 16, 2026, Esther is seen carefully cleaning Chira’s grave. She pours detergent over the cemented surface and scrubs the tombstone to make the inscriptions clearer, before wiping it down with a cloth. The touching act drew heartfelt reactions from thousands of fans who continue to remember him.
The clip featured the song One Call by Otile Brown, a track that many associate with Chira’s burial, further stirring emotions among viewers.
Accompanying the video, Esther referred to Chira as her son and offered a brief but heartfelt prayer: “Rest in peace, my son.”
Emotional Tributes at the Gravesite
In another video, Esther was joined by Manzi wa Mombasa, a close associate of the late TikToker. The two stood by the grave, sharing kind words in his memory.
Manzi wa Mombasa explained that their visit was intentional, as March 16 marked exactly two years since Chira died in a tragic hit-and-run accident.
“Hi guys, today we remember the late Brian Chira… it’s the date he passed on, and that’s why we have come to visit his grave,” she said.
She added that part of their plan was to clean the tombstone and the surrounding area, before placing fresh flowers as a sign of remembrance.
According to her, the visit had initially been intended as a gathering for fans, but many were unable to attend due to the sensitive nature of the occasion. Still, she acknowledged the many tributes sent in from supporters.
Manzi wa Mombasa also expressed gratitude to those who remembered Chira, including Jude Magambo, who sent a heartfelt message in his honour.
As the emotional tributes continue to pour in, Chira’s family and friends remain united in keeping his memory alive while praying for his eternal peace.
