Halle Bailey Granted Restraining Order Against Ex-Boyfriend DDG Over Abuse Allegations
Actress and singer Halle Bailey has been granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, following claims of repeated abuse throughout their relationship.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, a judge ordered DDG to stay away from both Bailey and their 17-month-old son, Halo, pending a full hearing scheduled for June 6.
In court documents, Bailey detailed a disturbing pattern of behavior, stating:
“Throughout our relationship, DDG has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”
One particularly alarming incident occurred in January, when Bailey says DDG became verbally abusive while she was securing their child in a car seat. The situation reportedly escalated into physical violence.
“We fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain,” she wrote in her statement.
Bailey also recalled an incident in March, where she alleges DDG entered her home without consent, went into her bedroom, and sent her a photo of her empty bed. He allegedly followed the message with, “Now I know what you have been doing,” which she interpreted as an accusation of infidelity.
In another confrontation, Bailey said DDG became aggressive when she refused to let their sick child visit him. She claimed he smashed her Ring doorbell camera during the altercation and, after she tried to call a family member for help, he grabbed her phone and drove off in his car.
As part of the court order, DDG has also been barred from posting or streaming content about Bailey and their son.
These serious allegations come amid increasing scrutiny of toxic dynamics in celebrity relationships, and the upcoming hearing will determine the next legal steps in the case.
