Idd Aziz song chosen for AFCON anthem

AFCON 2025 finally has a beat to match its energy after French DJ Mathias Pace joined forces with Kenyan Afrohouse star Idd Aziz to release Beautiful Day, the tournament’s official anthem.

Unveiled by MLIFE Music Group in partnership with Virgin Music Africa, the track blends Kiswahili and English, delivering a powerful message of African identity, unity, and football’s unmatched ability to bring people together. The Africa Cup of Nations is currently underway in Morocco, and the anthem has quickly become part of the tournament’s pulse.

According to the producers, Beautiful Day was intentionally crafted to reflect the scale and emotion of Africa’s biggest football spectacle, fusing authentic African sounds with a global musical appeal.

Since its release, the song has echoed through stadiums and gained impressive momentum on digital platforms across the continent. In Kenya, it has sparked strong engagement on streaming services and social media, while in Morocco it is trending among the top songs on YouTube.

The anthem has also taken off on TikTok and X, where fans are sharing dance challenges and football-themed clips under the hashtag #BeautifulDayAFCON.

“This project is more than just an anthem; it represents a moment of unity,” said MLIFE Music Group CEO Mike Jean, noting that the song sits at the crossroads of football, culture, and African pride.

The accompanying music video, directed by Marc Nicolas Guillaume, is a visual celebration of African heritage, youthfulness, and the electrifying spirit of the game. Idd Aziz described the song as a reflection of shared continental pride, emphasizing football’s unique power to connect people across borders and backgrounds.

International praise has also followed. Moroccan-Swedish super-producer RedOne applauded the anthem for balancing African identity with a hopeful message for the next generation, singling out the video’s focus on youth and progress.

For Mathias Pace, the goal was clear: to ensure African fans feel seen and represented through music during the tournament. He described AFCON not merely as a competition, but as a cultural movement.

Beyond charts and streams, Beautiful Day has also earned a Baobab d’Or 2026 First Prize nomination for Civic Engagement, recognizing projects that promote youth empowerment, community development, and positive social impact across Africa and the diaspora.

The anthem is now available on YouTube and all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Boomplay.
