‘I Just Wanted to Die”- Akothee Hospitalized After Traumatic Night, Slams Nurse’s Cold Response

Kenyan music star Akothee was rushed to the emergency room by her children this morning after experiencing a night of agonizing and severe abdominal pain, which she believes was triggered by seeing a “disturbing video of a young girl” in her home area.

The singer, who has often spoken about managing chronic health issues, described the harrowing ordeal, which tragically included a near-death moment and a shocking lack of compassion from a medical professional.

A Night of Agony

Akothee detailed how the emotional stress from the video instantly led to severe physical symptoms that felt like she was “literally went into labour.” From midnight, she suffered from uncontrollable vomiting, diarrhea, burning acidity, and unbearable stomach pain, forcing her to sleep in the toilet.

“At around 5.00 am, I couldn’t bear it anymore,” she recounted. “I rolled off, trying to reach their door while screaming in pain, that’s what finally woke them up.”

Her children found her on the toilet floor in a distressing state and rushed her to the hospital’s emergency wing at 6:00 a.m.

The Heartbreaking Encounter

Instead of immediate relief, Akothee and her daughters were met with a nurse who displayed a cold and unsympathetic attitude. Seeing their mother in unbearable pain, her daughters “kindly asked if the nurse could give me something for the pain.”

The nurse’s response was sharp and dismissive: “Go outside and wait in front there.”

Akothee, barely able to sit up, said the moment forced her to momentarily forget her pain to defend her children, who were simply trying to help. When she expressed that she would rather seek another hospital because the pain was so intense that she “just wanted to die,” the nurse’s reply was chillingly indifferent: “You are free to go,” before abandoning them.

Her daughter, Vesha, even resorted to begging the nurse, but Akothee’s trust was broken, telling her children to leave, fearing the nurse might even inject her “for good.”

Focusing on Survival

Akothee called the experience “heartbreaking,” lamenting that she was helpless, in crippling pain, and still had to defend her children in a place meant for care.

She later confirmed that she eventually received medication, which provided some relief, though her stomach remains painful and “tired.” She ended her post with a powerful resolve: “May I get well to protect my children.”
