Kenya Power announces blackouts in the following areas:

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled electricity maintenance exercise set to affect several areas across the country on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

The planned outage will impact parts of Nairobi, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Mombasa counties, with power interruptions expected to last for several hours as technicians carry out system upgrades and routine maintenance.

Nairobi Region

In Githurai, power will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Areas set to be affected include Maziwa, Maziwa Farmers, Co-op Bank, and Kahawa West Kamae, along with nearby customers.

Meanwhile, parts of Nyari will also experience outages during the same hours. Affected locations include Stabex Petrol Station, sections of Gachie Market, Redhill Baraka School, Muchugia Estate, Bishops Estate, Nyari West, and areas along Ngecha Road.

North Rift Region

In Elgeyo Marakwet County, power maintenance will affect the Katalel Centre area from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Locations expected to be impacted include Kipsoen Polytechnic, Salaba Primary School, Kiplus Centre, Boundary Centre, Silvan Secondary School, and surrounding customers.

Coast Region

In Mombasa County, parts of Likoni will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Diani Beach Hospital, Mrima Primary School, Tenant Purchase, Samaki Poa, Ngumungumu, Kibaki Estate, Mt. Sinai, Ujamaa, Pungu, Vyemani, Shikaadabu, Taifa Gas, Inspiration, Vijiweni, Consolata, Corner Mpya, Bububu, Soweto, Likoni Secondary School, Kiwerera, Mbuta, Third World, and nearby customers.

Advisory to Residents

Kenya Power has advised affected customers to plan accordingly and treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period.

The utility company noted that the interruptions are necessary to facilitate system improvements and enhance the reliability of electricity supply in the affected regions.
