Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Interruptions Across Several Counties on Friday, June 26, 2026
Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026, affecting several areas across the country as part of routine maintenance activities.
Residents and businesses in parts of Meru, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kisumu, Kisii, Mombasa and Kilifi counties have been advised to prepare for temporary power outages during the scheduled maintenance periods.
Meru County
In parts of Meru County, areas around Laare and Mutuati will experience a power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Mutuati, Laare, Kambi Kairanya, Antubetwe Kiongo, Kieni Kia Muti, Karama Market, Nkoe, Athawene, Mea, Kanuni, Kamukuji, Nkamathi, Mariri, Niaikuriu, Tuuru Mission, Ithata and Kamweline, among surrounding customers.
Laikipia County
Parts of Laikipia County will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The interruption will affect Lamuria, Ngobit and Withare areas, including Vegpro Farm, Kiambiriria, Karai-Oltaveta, Sirma, Kahuruko, Kona Mbaya and Misiri.
Nyeri County
Residents in parts of Nyeri County around Kiamwathi and Giakanja will experience a scheduled outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Red Court, parts of Classic, Kiamwathi Market, Chorongi Coffee Factory, Kwa Magua, Miberethi, Giakanja Market, Kiunyu, Ikumbo, Karibaini, Giakanja Coffee Factory and Karicheni.
Coast Region
In parts of Kilifi County, power interruption is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in areas around Samburu Town, Mwakijembe and Silaloni.
Affected locations include Samburu Town, Vigurungani, Banga, Mwakijembe, Kinagoni and Silaloni.
Parts of Mombasa County will also experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Areas affected include Dida, Matano Manne, Vitengeni, Malanga, Bale, Bao Lala and Milore.
Western Region
In Kisumu County, residents in parts of Miwani will experience an interruption from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The affected area includes Olaro and neighbouring customers.
Another outage is scheduled around Kilimori Market and Kunyak from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
South Nyanza Region
Parts of Kisii County will also be affected by a major scheduled interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The outage will affect areas including Kenyenya, Etago, Nyangweta, Suguta, Moticho, Engou, Nyabera, Nyamaiya, Ekona, Mogenda, Ochodororo, Maroon, Igorera, Etono, Omobera, Kerongorori, Randani, Nyakoiba, Ibencho, Nyansara, Openda, Eburi, Nyamasege, Kiagware, Nyaimera, Nyansakia, Kona Yonduko, Riokindo, Bendera, Magenche, Embakasi, Mariba, Geteni, Nyabinyinyi, Moteiribe, Jerusalem and Nyagancha.
Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
