Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Interruptions in Several Regions on May 26, 2026
Kenya Power has announced scheduled power maintenance works set to affect several areas across the country on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
The planned interruptions will impact parts of Nairobi, Nandi, Kisumu, Migori, and Mt. Kenya regions as technicians carry out routine maintenance on the electricity network.
Nairobi Region
Part of Kiharu
Residents and businesses along Ngecha Road, Mitini Estate, BAA Architects and adjacent areas will experience power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Chania Avenue and Jamhuri Estate
A wider section of Nairobi West will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Areas expected to experience outages include parts of Ngong Road, Coptic Hospital, Muchai Drive, Rose Avenue, Nairobi Golf Club, Car Max, Kibera Drive, Kabarnet Road, St. Nicholas School, Chania Avenue, Kindaruma Road, Wood Avenue, French School, Adlife Plaza, Prestige Plaza, Woodley Estate, Mugo Kibiru Estate, Moi Girls School, Toy Market, Suna Road, Wamagata Estate, Togo Flats, Joseph Kangethe Estate, Nairobi Water, Kenya Prison Staff Houses, Jamhuri Estate and nearby customers.
North Rift Region
Parts of Nandi County – Arwos Area
Electricity supply will be interrupted from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Cheribisi, Arwos Centre, St. Roberts Arwos and surrounding areas.
Western Region
Parts of Kisumu County – Kombewa Area
Customers in Kombewa Approved School, Bar Korwa, Omuya, Ratta, Opasi and neighbouring areas will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
South Nyanza Region
Parts of Migori County – Kehancha Town, Ntimaru and Taranganya
The outage is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Areas to be affected include Kehancha Law Courts, Kehancha Town, Igena, Taranganya, Kobinto, Senta, Chinato, Ntimaru, Kegonga, Matare and adjacent areas.
Mt. Kenya Region
Warazojet, Ndathi and Kimahuri Areas
Residents in Ndathi, Junction Villa, Snow View, Warazojet, Mapema, Kimahuri, Kairi, Bagdad and nearby areas will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kenya Power advised customers in the affected regions to plan accordingly during the maintenance period.
