King Kaka reveals Nana Owiti leaving him blind sided him

Kenyan rapper and entrepreneur King Kaka has opened up about life after the end of his marriage, admitting that the separation came as a surprise to him just as it did to many of his fans.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen while promoting his latest music project, the award-winning artist reflected on the collapse of his 13-year relationship with media personality Nana Owiti, saying he never imagined the union would come to an end.

The former couple officially announced their separation in December 2024 through a joint statement, explaining that the decision had been reached after careful reflection. They also reaffirmed their commitment to co-parenting their three children.

Separation Came as a Shock

According to King Kaka, no one enters a relationship expecting it to fail, which is why the breakup was difficult for him to process.

“When you get into a relationship, you never know if it will end or not. It is life. The marriage shocked so many people; I was also shocked,” he said.

The rapper revealed that adjusting to life on his own after years of family life forced him to learn new skills and become more independent.

Learning to Live Alone

King Kaka shared that one of the biggest adjustments was learning how to cook for himself.

He recalled a moment when he arrived home late and discovered there was nothing prepared for dinner, forcing him to improvise with whatever was available.

“I had to eat Weetabix and soda. That is when I realised I needed to learn how to cook,” he said.

The experience, he explained, pushed him to adapt to a different lifestyle and become more self-reliant.

Open to Love Again

Although he is not in a rush to remarry, King Kaka admitted that he remains open to finding love in the future.

The musician disclosed that many women have reached out to him since he publicly confirmed that he was single.

“Many ladies have come out. I did not even know I was loved this much,” he said.

While he joked that he has not yet found a replacement, he hinted that he may be getting close to meeting someone special.

“I have yet to get a replacement. But I am almost getting one. As a human being, you cannot live alone. It is too early to say I will get married, but I am planning for myself,” he added.

For now, King Kaka says he is focused on rebuilding his life, embracing new experiences, and taking things one step at a time as he navigates life after the end of his marriage.
