Mulamwah Plans On Quitting Social Media After Completion Of His Kitale Mansion

Popular comedian and digital content creator David Oyando, better known as Mulamwah, has announced his intentions to permanently step away from social media once his mansion in Kitale is complete.

Speaking in an interview with Tonny Mwirigi, the comedian expressed a desire to move away from online drama and the public spotlight in favor of a quiet, stable life in his hometown.

Transitioning to a Corporate-On-Demand Model

Mulamwah clarified that retiring from social media does not mean retiring from business. He assured brands and corporate clients that he will remain fully accessible for partnerships—on his own terms.

“If a client needs me, there are plenty of flights. You can fuel my Benz and I can come for a meeting, or you can come to my home.” — Mulamwah

The content creator compared his future lifestyle to that of veteran trade unionist Francis Atwoli, noting that true influence doesn’t require a 24/7 digital presence.

“Have you ever heard of someone like Atwoli? If you want him, you simply go to his home. If you’re in the media, carry your cameras and follow him there. He never leaves that place,” he observed, adding that this level of stability and comfort is his ultimate goal.

Marking the End of an Era

For Mulamwah, finishing the Kitale estate is not just about real estate—it marks the successful conclusion of his professional mission in Kenya’s capital.

The comedian views the property as the ultimate symbol of achieving what originally drove him to relocate to Nairobi. Once the keys are handed over, he considers his digital chapter officially closed.

“I can say that will be my biggest achievement,” Mulamwah stated. “It will mark the end of my social media era because haven’t you already achieved what brought you to Nairobi?”
