‘Nimekonda Guys’- Eric Omondi Reveals How The Long Mombasa Trek Affected His Body (photo)
Comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has officially revealed the physical aftermath of his grueling 486-kilometer trek from Nairobi to Mombasa. While the journey was a massive success for his latest charitable initiative, the comedian shared on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, that the four-day odyssey has left his body looking significantly different.
The most striking change is the dramatic “two-tone” effect on his skin caused by the unforgiving coastal sun. Displaying his tan lines with his trademark humor, Eric pointed out the stark contrast between the skin protected by his vest and the skin exposed to the elements. “One part of me looks Russian, and the other looks Kenyan,” he joked, referring to the pale patches versus his now deeply tanned arms and neck.

Lessons Learned and Weight Lost
The physical toll wasn’t limited to a sunburn. Eric noted that the intense daily cardio caused him to lose a noticeable amount of weight. Prior to the walk, the comedian had been documenting his fitness journey and “bulking up” at the gym, but he admitted that four and a half days of pushing his body to the limit stripped away much of that progress.
Interestingly, he confessed to ignoring some expert advice along the way. Content creator Murugi Munyi had reportedly insisted he use sunscreen and even provided some for the trip, but Eric downplayed the necessity at the time—a decision he now playfully regrets as he navigates his current “multi-colored” state.
A Worthy Sacrifice
Despite the weight loss and the scorched skin, Omondi insists he has no regrets. The walk was a high-profile effort to raise funds for a new rescue center, a project that is already under construction thanks to the initiative’s success. He took the opportunity to thank the “Sisi Kwa Sisi” team and a star-studded lineup of celebrities who joined him at various intervals, including: Khaligraph Jones, Daddy Owen, Eko Dyda, Iyanii. Churchill, Jeff Koinange, and Carol Radull. Amber Ray, Eddie Butita, and Murugi Munyi.
As the rescue center begins to take shape, Eric continues to appeal for support from those who “bought kilometers” or contributed to the cause. For the comedian, a bit of lost muscle and a heavy tan is a small price to pay for a lasting impact on the community.
