Oga Obinna Addresses Speculation Of Fallout With Kamene Goro
Media personality Steve Thompson Magahana, widely known as Oga Obinna, has finally addressed the persistent speculation surrounding a potential fallout between him and fellow media personality Kamene Goro.
Obinna has clarified that there’s no animosity between them, asserting that what many perceived as a “beef” was simply a matter of two professionals pursuing different creative directions.
Speaking just hours after his sold-out “My Mistakes” show on Saturday, June 7, 2025, Obinna described Kamene as a talented and likable individual whom he genuinely enjoyed working with during his time in radio. He insisted that nothing significant had transpired to cause a rift.
“Wow, a lot happened, but I will summarise it this way — Kamene is a good person. So I would not say there is any bad blood or enmity between us. It is just that what I was trying to build, she did not really see the value in,” Obinna explained. He further added, “She is talented and likeable, and I worked with her for a while. Out of all the years I worked in radio, she and Sanaipei Tande are the only people I genuinely enjoyed working with.”
Obinna revealed that after their departure from radio, he attempted to help Kamene transition into the digital content creation space, a move he had successfully facilitated for other entertainers. However, Kamene initially showed hesitation, even regarding minor details like wardrobe. While she eventually agreed to create content with him, their collaboration soon took an unexpected turn.
“After we left radio, I tried introducing her to the digital space, but she was a bit skeptical at first — even with things like dressing up. Eventually, she came around, and we started working on some content,” he recalled. Obinna specifically mentioned one of their early attempts at digital content, a comedic skit based on a cultural stereotype about washing omena (sardines) with soap—a well-known inside joke shared between Luos and Kikuyus.
