Pastor Kanyari Honors Fallen Gen Z Protesters, Reaffirms Kasarani MP Ambitions
Controversial Salvation Healing Ministry founder, Pastor Victor Kanyari, has joined millions of Kenyans in commemorating the second anniversary of the June 2024 anti-government demonstrations. In a solemn tribute shared on Thursday, June 25, 2026, the televangelist honored the young men and women who lost their lives during the historic youth-led protests.
Through a detailed Facebook message, Kanyari praised the fallen protesters as national heroes whose ultimate sacrifices for governance reforms and state accountability must never be forgotten.
“Today, we honour and thank the mighty leaders who laid the foundation of our great nation through sacrifice, vision and dedication. Their tireless efforts have brought our country to where it stands today… As we celebrate their legacy, let us join hands in unity, love and hard work to build an even brighter future.” — Pastor Victor Kanyari
Listing the Fallen Heroes
Alongside his address, Kanyari published a specific memorial roster honoring several individuals who were killed during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill crackdowns.
The tribute explicitly named the following victims:
-
Evans Kiprotich, Eric Mutinda, and Joseph Muraya
-
Daniel Maina, Benard Ndegwa, and Henry Ochieng
-
Emmanuel Kariuki, Joan Chepkoech, and Samuel Waweru
-
Allan Omondi, Faith Chepngetich, and Peter Kamau
-
Brian Otieno, Agnes Kirui, among several others.
“The heroes we remember. We remember. We honour. We build,” the memorial message read.
Eyeing the Kasarani Parliamentary Seat
Beyond the spiritual and memorial tributes, Kanyari strategically leveraged the national moment to advance his political career. The preacher officially declared his intention to contest the Kasarani parliamentary seat in the upcoming General Election.
Framing his political entry around the theme of community service, Kanyari promised to prioritize grassroots development and economic empowerment for families within the constituency.
“As your incoming MP for Kasarani, I remain committed to walking this journey with you, listening, serving and championing development for every family. Together, we move forward. Together, we rise,” Kanyari concluded.
