Rape or sweet romance? Police claim woman raped in broad daylight in Nairobi CBD and the street urchin who raped her are lovers
An amateur video that caught a street urchin raping a woman caused a stir a few days ago. Police have unraveled the mystery of the rape incident which happened along Mto Lane off River Road in Nairobi.
A few days ago an undated video surfaced on social media showing a street urchin raping a woman in broad daylight as his colleagues cheered him on.
The mystery
Nairobi police boss Joseph Ole Tito has confirmed that the man who raped the woman along with other suspects in connection with the incident have been arrested.
Police however say the woman who was raped and the man who raped her are lovers. Ole Tito says that the words the woman said during the act confirms the man is her lover.
“We have 10 suspects in custody, all of them are street children. What I have discovered is that the suspects and the woman know each other. She is also a street urchin. We are looking for her. If you watched the video, you could hear her saying that the man, who was having sexual intercourse with her, was her lover. I would say they have their own life,” Joseph Ole TitoMr Tito told Citizen on Thursday.
In the video, the woman screams for help when the man pounced on her and started raping her. The woman even pleaded for help but gave in when another street urchin who was recording the video threatens to kill her.
But during the act the woman is heard enjoying it all. She could he heard saying “mtu wangu” and “Huyu ni mtu wangu” as the man ‘raped’ her.
The woman also referred her ‘rapist’ as Baite during the act. The words she uttered further complicated the rape claims.
