Retiring “Mokoro” From the Daily Hustle
Toxic revealed that his mother has not had to work a single day since his career took off in 2024, noting that he takes pride in ensuring her comfort and security away from the hardships of the trenches.
Using Sheng to express his gratitude, the rapper explained that he handles all her financial needs:
“Mokoro ako bie, mokoro tangu unisa ijipe tangu 2024 hajaenda mboka, ako tu area kama ka Chiwawa kulishwa kila kitu,” Toxic shared warmly. “Mokoro nimemweka tu fiti, hayuko Oyole kabisa, ako tu poa daily namshughlukia tu.” (My mom is doing great. Ever since things worked out for me in 2024, she hasn’t had to work. She’s just chilling like a boss being provided with everything. I’ve set her up well; she no longer lives in Kayole, she is doing fine and I take care of her daily.)
The Violent Kiamaiko Scuffle: Facing Down a Knife Attack
Away from his family milestones, the interview took a dark turn as Toxic recounted a harrowing, viral altercation in Nairobi’s Kiamaiko area that nearly claimed his life. The violent ambush resulted in his car being severely vandalized and left his close associates, Mauru Gwash and Oush, hospitalized with serious stab wounds.
The rapper detailed the terrifying moment a local attacker, identified by the alias “Wong,” confronted him while he was cornered inside his vehicle.
-
The Standoff: Aggressively surrounded by a mob, Toxic was ordered to step out of his vehicle but refused to comply, recognizing the immediate danger.
-
The Attack: Wong then brandished a knife and attempted to plunge it into the rapper through the window. In a desperate bid for survival, Toxic reached out and grabbed the blade barehanded, subduing his attacker and preventing a fatal blow.
-
The Truce: While Wong’s gang continued to smash the vehicle’s windows and bodywork, Toxic held his ground against their leader. Realizing he had been overpowered by the artist, Wong finally commanded his men to step down and cease the destruction.
The chaotic melee was abruptly cut short when police officers deployed from the nearby Huruma Police Station arrived at the scene. Alerted by the loud commotion taking place just a stone’s throw away from the precinct, the authorities intervened, dispersing the crowd and rescuing the traumatized musical group.
