Bien Defends Marriage Amid Recent Speculations ‘Inabamba Mafala’

Singer Bien-Aimé Alusa Baraza has publicly refuted the popular claim that marriage is only for the naive, stating that his union with his wife, Chiki Karuka, has been a source of personal growth and fulfillment. Speaking on Monday, September 22, 2025, the Sauti Sol musician argued against the trending notion that marriage is an outdated institution.

“Marriage does not excite only fools. I would even tell my wife Chiki the same, marriage does not excite only fools. Marriage is good. Get married. There is growth and there is building together,” Bien said.

A Look Into a Lasting Union

Bien admitted that he empathizes with those who have a different view but insisted that his own experience is proof that marriage works. He revealed that he and Chiki have been married for 11 years, a milestone that often goes unnoticed by the public.

He explained that their success is not due to perfection but to a strong foundation of honesty, open communication, and mentorship. He credited his parents, who have been married for 40 years, and a network of close friends as key guides in their journey.

“We are never perfect, but we keep moving,” he said, acknowledging that they face fights and difficult moments like any other couple. However, he emphasized that they choose to talk through their challenges and remain transparent with each other. For Bien, marriage is not about an illusion of perfection but a commitment to grow together through life’s highs and lows.
