Savara Sets the Record Straight: “I’m Not Married” Despite Celebrating 7 Years With Partner
Sauti Sol’s Savara Mudigi has clarified his relationship status after comments he made on Alex Mwakideu’s podcast reignited speculation among fans.
The singer confirmed that although he recently celebrated seven years with his partner, the relationship has not been formalised — and he does not consider himself married.
During the interview, Mwakideu pressed him on persistent rumours. Savara responded plainly:
“Seven years… yes, I celebrated seven years. But let me make this clear — I’m not married. I’m not officiated.”
He added that he has no intention of publicising when, or even if, a wedding will happen.
“When am I planning to officiate it? I’m not telling anybody — but I will do it.”
Protecting His Private Life
Savara said his decision to keep his relationship out of the public eye is intentional and based on years of experience in the spotlight.
“I keep my love life private on purpose,” he said.
“My fans don’t need to know everything. I’ve been in the industry long enough to know that what people don’t know, they can’t destroy.”
He added that public scrutiny can bring unnecessary negativity:
“I don’t want to invite a lot of energies into that part of my life. When it comes to my woman and my family — the people I love — I don’t need to expose them to all that. Social media is too polarised.”
Partner Plays Key Role in His Career
In a rare earlier revelation, Savara shared that his longtime partner, Yvonne Endo, is part of his management team — a decision he said was driven by trust and understanding.
“Yvonne is part of my management team. She knows me best. She’s the bridge between me and everyone else because she already understands me,” he said.
He emphasised the importance of surrounding himself with people who genuinely care:
“Family should come first. You need people who would take a bullet for you.”
Savara concluded by noting that every artiste builds their inner circle differently:
“There’s no one-size-fits-all. What matters most is having a team you can trust.”
