Shatta Bway Bids Farewell to Radio 47 & TV 47 After a Year, Teases New Chapter

Popular media personality Steve Jacob Maunda, better known as Shatta Bway, has officially parted ways with Cape Media’s Radio 47 and TV 47 after just over a year of service.

Taking to social media to announce his departure, Shatta Bway expressed heartfelt gratitude for his time at the media house, describing the experience as meaningful and growth-filled.
“I have officially left Cape Media (Radio 47). I leave with no regrets, only gratitude and a genuine desire to see Cape Media reach even greater heights,” he wrote.

The celebrated presenter assured fans that he isn’t stepping away from the industry, instead hinting at exciting things ahead.
“You will like the next chapter,” he promised. “Mlisema Shatta Rudi kwa Radio Daily na nimewasikiliza, so stay tuned.”

Shatta Bway first rose to prominence at Royal Media’s Radio Citizen, where he earned a reputation as one of Kenya’s most sought-after talents. His move to Cape Media marked a new phase in his career, where he not only hosted shows on both TV 47 and Radio 47 but also played a strategic role in developing the company’s betting product.

Reflecting on his six-year media journey, Shatta Bway thanked his loyal fanbase—the “Shatta Generals”—for sticking with him through highs and lows.
“Six years ago, I turned on the mic and introduced you to The Shatta Bway. You became family instantly. You’ve stood by me through it all, and I don’t take that for granted.”

Beyond the studio, Shatta Bway has navigated personal challenges, including the tragic loss of his wife in 2023. He previously spoke about the emotional and practical responsibility of raising his children alone.
“Right now, I make decisions as both a mother and a father. I need time with my children,” he shared.

Known for his resilience and versatility, Shatta Bway’s next move is eagerly anticipated by fans and industry insiders alike.
