Kenyan beauty and lifestyle entrepreneur Shorn Arwa has stirred conversation online with a candid take on fame, privacy, and the contradictions of celebrity life.

Through a series of Instagram Stories, the outspoken businesswoman questioned why some public figures complain about the pressures of being in the spotlight while continuing to maintain active online presences.

“Fame Is Still Better Than No Fame”

Arwa admitted she doesn’t understand celebrities who claim they dislike fame. While acknowledging that public life can be tough, she argued that it still offers more advantages than obscurity.

“When I see celebrities say they wish they weren’t famous, I honestly don’t get it. Yes, being in the limelight is tough, but so is NOT being in the limelight,” she wrote.

For Arwa, fame is not a burden but an asset. She openly embraces attention, insisting that both praise and criticism fuel her brand.

“Me? Mimi, make me as famous as I can get! I love it here. When people talk about me, my currency goes up… publicity is publicity,” she declared.

A Message to “Tired” Celebrities

Addressing stars who publicly complain about the toll of fame, Arwa offered blunt advice: if they are truly unhappy, they should step away from the spotlight altogether.

“And not to invalidate anyone who says they hate fame but let’s be real: if you’re truly tired of it, just delete and deactivate your socials, get a regular job, and live a normal life,” she suggested.

She also called out what she sees as hypocrisy in complaining about fame while continuing to overshare online:
“How do you say you hate being famous, yet you post every other second?”

Public Yet Private

While unapologetically embracing her celebrity status, Arwa was quick to draw a distinction between her public persona and her private life.

She revealed that she keeps her personal circle extremely small—limited to herself, her sister, and a childhood friend she has known for over 20 years.

“When it comes to personal life, I’m extremely private and with an almost non-existent circle… It’s just me, my sister, and a friend I’ve known for more than two decades,” she said.

Living on Her Own Terms

Shorn Arwa’s no-nonsense remarks underline her approach to balancing visibility with boundaries. While she thrives on the publicity that fame brings, she remains firm about protecting her private world—a balance she believes many other celebrities fail to strike.
