The allegations surfaced amid reports that Kamene Goro’s husband, DJ Bonez, was in critical condition due to serious kidney-related health complications.
A source close to the couple described the situation as grave, raising concern among friends and fans alike.
The controversy escalated when blogger Njambi Fever claimed that some of DJ Bonez’s friends had accused Kamene of preventing them from visiting him during his hospitalization.
These accusations triggered a wave of online speculation, with many questioning Kamene’s behavior during her husband’s health crisis.
In an effort to set the record straight, Kamene addressed the rumours during an Instagram Q&A session. When a fan asked how she had been coping, she acknowledged the emotional strain of recent weeks.
“It’s been a bit hard, but God is good. Thank you so much for the love,” she replied.
Another follower asked about DJ Bonez’s condition, referencing circulating rumours. Kamene responded firmly, urging people to show compassion instead of indulging in gossip.
“He’s well. Feel free to ask him. Also, I believe humanity dictates that when someone is not well, you support, not seek gossip. If you had helped, you’d know,” she said, shutting down the speculation.
She also addressed claims that she barred friends from visiting her husband, despite their alleged contributions toward his medical expenses.
Kamene dismissed the allegations as false and damaging. “No, it’s not true. So much misinformation has been spread about me. I’ve been maligned in the most outrageous ways. All I’ll say is—you don’t know anything,” she wrote, revealing how deeply the rumours had affected her.
During the Q&A, Kamene also opened up about her personal life, stating that while she loves children, she has no plans to have any. “Love babies, not planning to have any,” she shared.
In a separate appearance on media personality Boina’s cooking show in March 2025, Kamene reflected on her radio career, revealing that she once earned over KSh 1 million (£6,000) per month.
She described radio as a financially rewarding field but ruled out hosting a Kiswahili show due to her limited fluency. “My Kiswahili isn’t that fluent, and I just can’t do it. What I do on radio is share life stories—crazy things I’ve done or seen others do,” she explained.
Kamene also spoke fondly of her former co-host Jalang’o, describing him as easygoing and highlighting the strong bond they shared both on and off the air.
