Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in various areas on Tuesday, as part of regular system maintenance efforts.

The utility company stated that the power outages will affect certain regions in six counties: Kiambu, Makueni, Trans Nzoia, Kakamega, Laikipia, and Kilifi.

Kiambu

Power interruptions are scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm in the following areas: Gikambura Market, Gicharani, Gichuhiro, and Riu Nderi.

Makueni

Power cuts will occur from 9 am to 5 pm in parts of Makueni, including Itangini Market, Kaumoni, Ngoluni, Kisau Girls, Mbumbuni Market, No Nyanya, Ngaa, Kithungo, Tawa, Kalawani, Wanzauni, Kikima, Mavindu, Uvaani, and Kyuu Nzeveni.

Trans Nzoia

Scheduled power interruptions will take place from 9 am to 1 pm in areas such as Kapkoi, Nauyapong, Maridadi, Molem, Kimwondo, Gumo Farm, Elgon Tea, Soy Mining, Bull Station, Sabwani ADC, Katuke, Chepchoina, Suam, Elgon Orchards, Nai, Kaptega Chorlim, Mt. Elgon KWS/KFS, Kitum, Kaitet Panocal, Endex, Kinyoro, Marambachi, Kisawai, Cheptumbelio, Gitwamba, and Suam.

Kakamega

Power interruptions will occur from 9 am to 4:30 pm in parts of Kakamega, including Shirugu Secondary, Kalenda Market, Samitsi Market, Chombeli Dispensary, and Musaga Market.

Laikipia

Power outages are scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm in areas such as Makutano, Katheri Centre, Maraone, Ontulili, Kalalu Farm, Ibis Farm, Greenland Farm, GAW, Sirimon, Umande, Mumeru, Ngenia, Mia Moja, and Kithithina.

Kilifi

In Kilifi, power cuts will affect parts of Chasimba, Ziani, Pinglikani, Mwarakaya, Kizingo, and Ng’ombeni from 9 am to 5 pm.

Nairobi

Areas in Nairobi that will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm include parts of Komarock Road, Sakina Petrol Station, Councilor Opundo Road, Dandora Phase 5, Ushirika Primary, Kinyago Primary, and Gitari Marigu.

Kiambu

In Kiambu, the affected areas from 9 am to 5 pm are Guango, Nguruwe, Little Sisters, Guango, Clifftop, Kigwaru Inn, Royal Brains, Ruaka S/Centre, Slaughter, and Kanungu.

Busia

Parts of Busia will experience outages from 9 am to 5 pm, including Akichelesit, Kakapel, Angurai Market, Katakwa, Aboloi, Kamunyele, Rwatama, Kakurikit, Kasinge, Adanya, and Katoitoi Primary.

Mombasa

In Mombasa, the power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm will affect Shimo la Tewa High School, Mama Ngina Girls High School, Flamingo Hotel, and Prison Staff Quarters.

Kilifi

Kilifi will also experience power interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm, affecting Kiwandani Dispensary, NCPB, Mkoroshoni, Msufini, Koroshoni, Pwani University, Fumbini, Konjora, and Cashewnuts.

Kenya Power has announced that areas across six counties will experience power interruptions today, Tuesday, to facilitate necessary system maintenance. The planned power interruptions will occur at various times between 9am and 5pm.

The affected counties are Nakuru, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, and Kilifi.

Nakuru: Parts of Nakuru will experience power interruptions from 9am to 4pm. Affected areas include DCK, Finlays Kingfisher, Kwa Muhia, Geothermal Plaza, Kamere, Oserian, Kongoni, Ndabibi, Aquilla Flowers, Rainforest, Sero, Ngondi, Maiella, and Sakutiek.

Nyeri: Power cuts from 9am to 5pm will affect Kamatongu, Muthiga Garden, Gen Karangi, Honi Resort, Aberdare County Club, Mwereri, Jersey Farm, Mweiga Blooms, PCEA Honi Prayer Centre, Flora Farm, Mweiga Town, Endarasha, Watuka, Charity, Kimunyuru, and Embaringo in Nyeri.

Kirinyaga: Parts of Kirinyaga will experience power interruptions from 9am to 4pm. Affected areas include Kamweli Water Pump, Kamweli Primary, Atlantis Concrete, Sweet Corn, Behind Nice Rice Millers, Mugumoini Village, and Gakungu.

Murang’a: Power cuts from 9am to 5pm will affect Naaro, Muruka, Githiara Market, Mathuri Shopping Centre, Kibuku Market, Nguthuru Market, and Kiranga Polytechnic in Murang’a.

Kiambu: Parts of Kiambu will experience power interruptions from 9am to 4pm. Affected areas include part of Mugumo, Shooting Range, Rabat Road, Uganda Road, Chicago Road, Small Farm, and Bwanji Farm.

Kilifi: Power cuts in Kilifi will occur from 9am to 5pm. Affected areas include part of Mnarani, Kilifi Plantation, Plantation Sisal Fact, Mavueni, Mandharini, Chonyi, Jaribuni, Vipingo, Desalination Plant, Pazuri Homes, Vipingo Ridge, and Vipingo Airstrip. Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in Uasin Gishu and Nyeri Counties on July 12, 2024. This planned outage is part of ongoing network maintenance.

The power interruptions will occur between 9 AM and 5 PM in the affected areas.

Kiuna’s Passing:

Bishop Allan Kiuna passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, after a long battle with multiple myeloma cancer. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer in 2018/2019 and went public with his condition in December after being declared cancer-free.

Bishop Kiuna founded Jubilee Christian Church in 1994 after marrying his wife, Rev. Kathy Kiuna. He served as the vision bearer and overseer of the church.

Kenya’s electricity distribution company, KPLC, has announced power outages in several areas across the country on Monday, July 8, due to maintenance work.

In a statement released on Sunday evening, KPLC indicated that some areas in Nairobi, Narok, Tharaka Nithi, and Embu counties will experience power interruptions between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

The specific areas affected include:

• Nairobi County: Parts of the Kitsuru neighborhood will face outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Narok County: Several areas in Oldonyorok will be without power from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Tharaka Nithi County: Some areas in Gituaka will experience outages from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Embu County: Parts of the Kathangari area will be affected from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
