Baba Talisha Explains Why He Turns Off Comments on Posts Honoring Late Wife

Kenyan photographer and TikToker Faustine Baba Talisha has addressed criticism over why he often disables comments on posts dedicated to his late wife, Mama Talisha.

The response came shortly after he marked the fifth anniversary of her tragic passing in a heartfelt tribute that drew over 5,000 likes. The post featured a portrait of his late wife alongside the words:

“5 years ago today, on 15th August 2020, I lost the love of my life in a tragic road accident. Mama Talisha, your love still lives in our hearts, your smile still lights our memories, and your spirit shines through our daughter every day. You may be gone from our sight, but never from our souls. Until we meet again.”

Protecting a Legacy

In a series of Instagram Stories, Baba Talisha revealed his reason for restricting comments on such posts, saying it is to shield his wife’s memory from negativity.

“I turn off comments when I post my late wife because clowns don’t deserve to speak on a queen’s legacy,” he wrote, calling out what he described as “keyboard warriors with zero crowns” who try to belittle his grief.

He dismissed accusations of seeking attention, responding:
“They say I post for fame, but bro… heaven ain’t a PR agency. If honoring Mama T looks like clout to you, may your turn teach you the difference. And when it’s your turn, I’ll hype your spouse too, deal.”

Courage Over Clout

For Baba Talisha, sharing his story is not about validation but about courage and connection.

“This isn’t about clout or fame, it’s about courage. If my story saves even one person from silent grief, then I’ve done right. Too many men and women grieve in silence, and some lose the depression battle. If my story can give even one person hope to keep going, then her memory continues to live with purpose,” he said.

He also sent a pointed message to his critics: “Funny how people with no scars are loudest about how survivors should heal.”

Healing Out Loud

Baba Talisha has been open about his grief journey, including seeking therapy to cope with his loss. His willingness to speak publicly has resonated with many followers, who view his posts not as a bid for fame but as a genuine effort to honor his wife’s memory while supporting others facing similar struggles.
