TikTok Star Baba Talisha Shares Why He Hasn’t Married Again: “Some Promises Live Beyond the Grave”
Popular TikTok creator Faustine Baba Talisha has opened up about why he hasn’t officially married his current partner, Miss Wanjey, years after finding love again. In an emotional Instagram post, the father of one revealed that a deep promise made to his late wife, Milka, continues to guide his decisions to this day.
“Love doesn’t end at death, and neither does respect,” he wrote, sharing how cultural values, personal integrity, and fatherhood have shaped his choices since Milka’s tragic passing in August 2020.
A Tragic Loss and a Lasting Promise
Milka, who was of Kikuyu descent, died in a devastating car accident along the Thika Superhighway near Kenyatta University. Their daughter, Talisha, miraculously survived but spent ten days in a coma and a further 21 days in intensive care.
As a man of Luhya heritage, Baba Talisha says he remains committed to doing “things the right way.” At the center of that belief is a promise he made to Milka before her death—to pay her dowry to her family.
“Before I can accept a dowry for my daughter or even visit my partner’s home for formal introductions, I must first pay dowry to the family of the woman who gave me the gift of our daughter,” he shared.
He explained that this is more than just tradition—it’s a matter of honoring Milka’s memory and demonstrating to his daughter that “her father did things right.”
A Vow That Delays a New Chapter
Though deeply in love with Miss Wanjey, Baba Talisha revealed during a recent Q&A that he hasn’t taken the formal steps toward marriage out of respect for the vow he made.
“It’s not out of disrespect to the woman I love now. It’s because of a promise I made to the woman I once loved and lost,” he wrote. “My late wife may be gone, but that vow about her dowry still weighs on my soul. Until I honor it, my spirit won’t rest.”
A Legacy of Integrity
Known for his heartwarming fatherhood content and grounded storytelling, Baba Talisha has long been a relatable figure on TikTok. His openness about grief, love, and fatherhood continues to resonate with thousands of fans across Kenya and beyond.
Through his message, he reminded his followers that some commitments outlive even death—and that honoring the past is just as important as building the future.
