WHERE IS JEFF KOINANGE? TV LEGEND’S MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE SPARKS PANIC — COLLEAGUES FORCED TO BREAK SILENCE

Citizen TV heavyweight Jeff Koinange has been missing from the screens for months — and Kenyans have noticed. The celebrated broadcaster vanished from his prime-time news slot and his flagship show JKL back in August 2025… and since then, not a single appearance, not a single statement.

With no word from Citizen TV and total silence from Jeff himself, the rumour mill has exploded — some Kenyans even fearing the worst.

HOT 96 CREW SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

As online hysteria peaked, Hot 96 FM presenter Fanya Mambo Kinuthia stepped in on Monday, 25 November, to pour cold water on the speculation.

Kinuthia revealed he spoke to Jeff just the day before.

“Take it from The Docket — Jeff Koinange is alive and well. Jana tulichat. He’s okay,” he announced on air. “Ignore the social media barking dogs.”

He admitted his inbox has been flooded with panicked messages.

“I keep telling people he is fine. These people spreading nonsense are the same ones who ‘killed’ Kibaki. Bad news is their hustle,” he added.

Co-host Patrick Igunza backed him up, saying Jeff is “very much okay” and reminding listeners that rumours have “many authors — and none of them deal in truth.”

JEFF SPEAKS — FINALLY

After months of online frenzy, Jeff himself finally surfaced with a brief but explosive message.

Responding to media personality Xtian Dela on WhatsApp, he wrote:
“Bro Bro Bro I’m ALIVE and KICKING.”

It was the first direct confirmation from the journalist since he quietly stepped away from TV in August — and it sent a wave of relief across social media.

MAINA KAGENI DROPS PROOF OF LIFE

Even before Jeff’s message, radio star Maina Kageni had tried to calm the storm. On 28 October, he posted a TikTok showing the two taking a casual walk. Jeff looked relaxed, smiling and in high spirits.

“Jeff is doing great and will be back on our screens very soon,” Maina captioned — the first video evidence of Jeff in months.

A NATION WAITS

Jeff’s social media silence only intensified the mystery. His last Facebook and X updates are from 25 October, while his final Instagram post — a Cowboys-themed event — was shared on 24 October.

But with reassurances now coming from all corners — and Jeff himself declaring he’s “alive and kicking” — fans are holding onto hope that the iconic broadcaster is gearing up for a comeback.
