These days, his songs take so many months before hitting the one million mark.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, <em>Japo Kidogo<\/em> &#8211; a song he released with Khaligraph in March has 900,000 views. Anyone can tell you that this number is definitely good for many Kenyan artists but not for Otile Brown. It&#8217;s just what it is.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"JAPO KIDOGO- OTILE BROWN X KHALIGRAPH JONES (OFFICIAL VIDEO)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/B2vmky7ovSA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Samantha<\/em> hit maker had not done any interview with local media houses in the last two years. When contacted, he often told people that not doing interviews was part of his strategy.<\/p>\n<p>About a fortnight ago I was astounded when I saw him on Citizen TV&#8217;s 10 over 10 promoting one of his latest releases dubbed <em>Zichune.<\/em> He was also on Milele FM and a couple of other radio stations. This really got me thinking.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_90152\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-90152\" style=\"width: 696px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-90152\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/12\/otile.jpg\" alt=\"Otile Brown\" width=\"696\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/12\/otile.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/12\/otile-300x181.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-90152\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Otile Brown<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Perhaps Otile Brown has come to the realization that he is not as popular as he was in 2018. He knew too well that doing media tours would get him back on people&#8217;s lips and as a result they would check out his music.<\/p>\n<p>I have two analogies that could explain Otile Brown&#8217;s dwindling fame. One is the obvious fact that he&#8217;s no longer dating popular socialite Vera Sidika. The fact is this lass made him popular and now no one cares because they are no longer together.<\/p>\n<p>Two is the emergence of Masauti, Madini Classic, Brown Mauzo, Sudi Boy and the likes.
