It was not long ago when Kenyan artists were seeking airplay in mainstream media for air play.<\/p>\n<p>However as it stands now, Kenyan fans have been treated to Kenyan music that they have been jamming to.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, despite the music\u00a0 having some heavy connotations in terms of sexuality and another\u00a0 forms of nudity,Kenyans are enjoying Kenyan secular music.<\/p>\n<p>Lucky enough the Ghetto anthems that carry raunchy vixens in them are now the talk of town. The <em>Wamlambez<\/em> Saccos are now house hold names if not international.<\/p>\n<p>Even the veteran musicians in the Kenyan Music scene like Jua Cali and the OG Khalighraph\u00a0 Jones\u00a0 have acknowledged the entrance of new age music. The likes of Boondocks gang,Ethic,\u00a0 Ochungulo family, Sailors among others are clearly redefining the Kenyan music scene.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-108320\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Ethic \" width=\"828\" height=\"552\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless-690x460.jpg 690w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/08\/Ethic-reckless.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 828px) 100vw, 828px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Edging out Wasafi?<\/h4>\n<p>For the longest time the Kenyan airwaves\u00a0 were being enjoyed by Tanzania&#8217;s Wasafi records\u00a0 music.\u00a0 However things seem to be changing gradually.<\/p>\n<p>I mean Wasafi artists are still doing good music, but<em> Queen B\u00a0<\/em> hit makers\u00a0 among others are now the talk of not only town but East Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Look at Figa by Ethic it is a song that many are still dancing too. I saw a post somewhere on social media saying, &#8216;<em>Dawa ya wasafi ni Wachafu!!! <\/em>True??<\/p>\n<p>Well need I explain further than that? We are taking our musical crown back!With no apologies.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand Wamlambez is now an anthem in the Kenyan Music scene.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ilnOAwKuZLQ<\/p>\n<p>I mean at least that is what our able hardworking artist deserve. Hard work, creativity and lyrical prowess\u00a0 pays.<\/p>\n<h4>Healthy Competition<\/h4>\n<p>Wasafi\u00a0 artists, no offence but it is about time that they are edged out especially in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>We love their music yes, but now competition is good for growth.<\/p>\n<p>Though in different genres, the new age musicians are going to give these foreign artists a run for their money. Sounds unreal though!! But it will happen if this spirit of hits goes on.<\/p>\n<p>In my opinion, I can confidently say that today, music events promoters should prioritize our own artists.<\/p>\n<p>This is because these artists have proven beyond doubt that Kenyan has massive talents.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0 just hope these new age music will not fade just shortly after being received by fans and on the other hand \u00a0Kenyan fans should also be congratulated for the support of Kenyan music.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the ghetto anthems take over the air waves it is now clear that Kenyans can love their own music artists.
