The jam dubbed Tawala<\/em>, which is a Swahili word that means reign, is without a doubt one of his best releases to this day. Believe you me it, beats the likes of Vidole<\/em>, Reason<\/em>, Cheki Vile<\/em> etc. hands down.<\/p>\n Tawala<\/em> is a beautiful praise song that talks about letting God’s spirit reign so that you can remain at peace no matter what is happening around you.<\/p>\n I absolutely love this jam. Other than the fact that it is well-arranged, it also epitomizes Eko Dydda’s growth since we came to know about him about a decade ago when he released Reason<\/em> alongside Holy Dave.<\/p>\n Not that I had any qualms with it but it seems, he got tired of the ‘stammer rap’ that most of us came to know him for back in the day.<\/p>\n If you ask me, he’s much better at singing and maybe, just maybe that’s why many people, including myself, resonate with Tawala<\/em> other than the fact that it carries a powerful message.<\/p>\n I know you will agree with me that the background vocalists really spiced up this jam. I keep imagining what it would sound like without their beautiful harmonies and I don’t think it would be as good.<\/p>\n The beat and instrumentation are also on point. They both make Tawala<\/em> catchy nevermind the fact that it’s a gospel jam. The video execution was also simple but really dope.<\/p>\n Watch Tawala<\/em> below and tell us what you think.
