Ever since the demise of her father, Kenyan music sensation, Avril locked out every man who came into her life.<\/p>\n

The death of her dad made her so alert, so vigilant in who became a part of her and who needed to stay out of the door.<\/p>\n

During her recent interview on Adelle Onyango’s podcast ‘Legally Clueless’, the proud mother of one opened up about her grief.<\/p>\n

I questioned every person who came into my life claiming to love me. I locked out so many people. I think grieve gives you so much. It is like a sieve because you are very conscious of anyone coming into your life and the reason they are coming into your life.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She would literally question every person who came into her life, trying to understand why exactly that person needed to be a part of the songbird’s story.<\/p>\n

The grief helped her in equal measure as it probably tore her to bits. She might have become detached but so did it build her music career.<\/p>\n

To a good extent, it helped me. It’s so weird but it fueled me back into the industry and that is when I did so much work and then again.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many at times we try to hide our grievances whether in our careers, our day-to-day hustles, in the smiles before the cameras but at the end of the day, we are human and we have our sad times.<\/p>\n

Avril was not new to this. She tried to lock up her sorrows by hiding in her music career but it just wasn’t adding up.<\/p>\n

She has feelings, she has her dreams, she needs a shoulder to lean on.<\/p>\n

And music was unfortunately not that shoulder this time around.<\/p>\n

Love life<\/h2>\n

She needed something else other than her career and that was – a person in her life.<\/p>\n

So Avril started dating this one person, and still is.<\/p>\n

She revealed that she bore a son with the man she currently is in love with and we don’t need to look far other than at veteran music director, Jibril Blessing.<\/p>\n

I wanted something else away from my career. I decided to date this one person. I do have someone, I have a love interest in my life right now and we have a beautiful son but still, I go back to questions so much.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, Avril’s insecurity still reveals itself, because time and again, she questions her baby daddy’s love for her.<\/p>\n

I keep on questioning so much about when the love, care, concern and how someone can just be unconditional with you. How does unconditional love work, how does one love without conditions? I am understanding that through the love that I have for my son, I can say he broke a very expensive vase that I have had since my dad passed on.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
