Celebrated gospel rapper, Eko Dydda’s arrest for defying curfew rules while tending to his sick wife, sparked wild uproar among Kenyans.<\/p>\n

Many were left with unanswered questions after activist, Boniface Mwangi shared details about the artiste’s arrest.<\/p>\n

Roughly a week after his release from police custody, Eko Dydda penned an earnest letter of gratitude to fans and all who stood by him.<\/p>\n

\nMad love to all of you who showed love because it takes a lot of courage to show love and only the weak hate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Further divulging that he had to appear in court after he defied the stipulated curfew rules, even though it was for a good cause.<\/p>\n

I appeared in court following my incident with police at Kilimani police station on breaking curfew rules as i went to buy medicine for my sick wife.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The gospel legend added that the Office of the DPP however freed him from all charges and had his previously acquired cash bail duly repayed.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution acquitted me of all charges and my cash bail was refunded.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Speaking to Ghafla soon after his release, Eko confirmed he was home with family and that is what matters most.<\/p>\n

At the moment, I\u2019m just happy that I am back home and I just wanna leave the rest in the past and focus on the future and the present which is me.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also revealing he received good treatment while locked up in the police cells at Kilimani and he remains thankful for that.<\/p>\n

He however declined to give further details in regard to his arrest and later release, stating that that is his past and he needs to focus on the now and the future.<\/p>\n
