her boyfriend, Omar Lali.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, May 27th, the court declined to extend the detention of the roughly 50-year old Lamu native who had been implicated in the case regarding the billionaire heiress\u00b4 death, even though no evidence had been provided against him.<\/p>\n<p>A decision the court arrived at amidst ongoing police investigations into the controversial fatal fall of Tecra id=\"caption-attachment-133225\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lovers, Tecra Karanja and Omar Lali<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Why?<\/h2>\n<p>Yesterday marked exactly 21 days of Omar Lali behind bars, having been arrested on Tuesday, May 5th, in what police termed \u00b4comprehensive investigations\u00b4 that did not need interference, therefore holding him back at Lamu police evidence has been provided against the family man, therefore setting him free.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_133371\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-133371\" style=\"width: 1042px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/05\/PHOTO-2020-05-05-22-42-57.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"caption-attachment-133371\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Omar Lali detained<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, Tecra\u00b4s lawyers wanted the court to extend his detention but it found no reason to detain him further.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Omar Lali needed to go with them to the crime scene as well as to the Jaha House in Shella where the late Tecra sustained severe head injuries.<\/p>\n<p>This would have been the fourth visit by the detectives to the scene of crime before Principal magistrate, id=\"caption-attachment-133060\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tecra Muigai with her parents<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Omar\u00b4s case was set for mentioning on Tuesday, May 26th for the court to issue further directions.
