Amina Abdi announces music comeback after 10-year hiatus<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Her last musical offering before she called it quits was her collaboration with Octopizzo called <em>Swag<\/em>. After this song, she dropped the bombshell.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"OCTOPIZZO - Swag ft. Amina [ItsNambaNaneTV]\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YR5nqPqQkLQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And she has since declared that she will be back to releasing new music aswell as an explanation of what she felt had transpired that caused her to quit the music scene. She had this to say:<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000\"><a style=\"color: #008000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/ntvs-amina-abdi-vows-to-get-female-andrew-kibe-king-kalala-on-radio-details\/\">NTV\u00b4s Amina Abdi vows to get \u2018female Andrew Kibe\u2019 King Kalala on radio (Details)<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>It was the bribing you had to do and because I was on radio and no one was paying me to play any of the music. I didn\u00b4t expect that. It really caught me by surprise.<br \/>\nThere was lack of support and then it was very difficult to get started. They say there is a certain video type of quality that can be played on air. A good quality video, how much is it? By that time when I was releasing\u00a0<em>Paint Town Red\u00a0<\/em>I was told 300k and I\u00b4m making sijui 15k.<br \/>\nIt was really hard and TV and radio was picking up. I could see the potential it had, so that\u00b4s what I focused on.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/07\/aminawithbraids.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-140175\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/07\/aminawithbraids.jpg\" alt=\"amina abdi\" width=\"473\" height=\"526\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/07\/aminawithbraids.jpg 473w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2020\/07\/aminawithbraids-270x300.jpg 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, the crux of her argument is actually undone by the contemporaries that she left in the industry who actually made it work. They stuck it out unlike Amina Abdi and they were rewarded with not just status but a successful career to boot. that would include people like Size 8, Octopizzo and Khaligraph Jones.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000\"><a style=\"color: #008000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/video-amina-abdi-and-dj-john-spend-almost-a-million-bob-throwing-their-son-birthday-party-of-the-year\/\">Video: Amina Abdi and DJ John spend almost a million bob throwing their son birthday party of the year\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Add to this the fact that unlike Amina Abdi, these guys had to make it work because they did not have a multi-millionaire husband who would have made the decision to quit make sense. They also did not have a great radio career at one of the biggest radio stations in Kenya, Capital FM to rely on.
