Ruth Matete seems to have come to a conclusion about the church as an institution in Kenya that was so personal, it pivoted her position on the matter. No, it wasn’t the fact that the church has remained silent during the Covid19 pandemic but it was in the same vein: silence.<\/p>\n

Ruth Matete opens up about betrayal from popular pastors and close friends after husband\u2019s death!<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

You see, Ruth Matete has had a harder, tough, more emotionally gruelling 2020 than almost anyone I know in the entertainment world. This was occasioned by the untimely and grisly death of her husband who died by emulation when the sooking gas he was tinkering with malfunctioned and set him ablaze. He spent a couple of days clinging to his life in the ICU (intensive care unit) before finally succumbing to his injuries.<\/p>\n

\"Ruth<\/a><\/p>\n

After such a viscerally traumatic period, Ruth Matete then had to deal with her late husband’s family; her in-laws, fighting her over the cause of death and where to bury their son, her husband.
\nThen as if that wasn’t enough, she still had to deal with the heartache of being left with the Herculean task of settling the medical bills that accrued due to the fact her husband was in the ICU aswell as the fact that he lay in the morgue for an extended period of time as she dealt with the family.<\/p>\n

All this time, her church was nowhere to be seen. Her church did not support her in any way shape or form and you need to keep in mind that she was at one point a praise and worship leader. And Ruth Matete would have done well with support because she was pregnant.<\/p>\n

And this speaks to the journey many Kenyans have found themselves on with regard to the churches they are members of. Most Kenyan churches are run as businesses and the truth is that even Jesus Christ wouldn’t recognize them if he were to come back today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI questioned God a lot, but now I understand why,\u201d Ruth Matete opens up 5 months after husband\u2019s death<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

During the COVID pandemic’s height when panic was a real issue, church leaders were mute. The country looked for them to provide spiritual leadership but all they cared for was opening up avenues for Kenyans to donate tithes and alms to them.<\/p>\n

That is food for thought and I would argue that Ruth Matete is right to not only quit church but call them out. She really would need more than just an apology from her church leaders before she changes her stance and on this matter, I stand in support of her.<\/p>\n
