And this got me thinking that perhaps, despite how poorly Uhurunomics has performed and how utterly devastating his leadership has been to the Kenyan economy, the future is actually still bright as resilient Kenyan youth actually still attempt to prop up the economy.<\/p>\n

And the thing Naivasha has shown me is that entertainment is actually where it’s at when it comes to boosting the Kenyan economy: Kenya’s is an entertainment economy. What do I mean by that?<\/p>\n

Well, our economy has been under the strain of poor government policies and rampant corruption. Alot of businesses were already reeling under the strain of how poorly the Jubilee administration has run the country prior to the Coov coming in and giving Uhuru an excuse for the devastation that was already ongoing in Kenya.<\/p>\n

Add to that the fact that KRA has also been demanding their pound of flesh even as businesses were still failing and you realize that the informal sector is what rose to the occasion as industrious Kenyans moved to entertainment and everything it pertains and as Naivasha is showing, this is an industry that Kenyans can benefit from.<\/p>\n

`Some problems take creative solutions, others need you to simply know a guy\u2026<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

And there are a lot of opportunities that abound in entertainment. From the drinks to be sold to the food vendors, to pharmacists who sell P2s and condoms to the hospitals and clinics that thereafter have to treat STDs… This really is a seller’s market.<\/p>\n

But what Naivasha says about the levels of depression is something we should eventually swing back to address because it is not normal for an entire generation to be as hedonistic as we Kenyan youth are. What are we running away from?<\/p>\n
