{"id":185093,"date":"2023-03-17T11:24:11","date_gmt":"2023-03-17T08:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/ke\/?p=185093"},"modified":"2023-03-17T11:24:11","modified_gmt":"2023-03-17T08:24:11","slug":"new-poll-shows-that-most-people-ignore-their-mothers-advice-until-age-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/new-poll-shows-that-most-people-ignore-their-mothers-advice-until-age-26\/","title":{"rendered":"New Poll Shows That Most People Ignore Their Mother&#8217;s Advice Until Age 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It&#8217;s official: Your mother really does know best \u2013 but most people don&#8217;t realise it until the age of 26, according to a survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The poll shows that nearly half the population ignored the advice their mum gave them as they were growing up, only to look back and agree that it was actually good sense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And nearly six in ten say they fully appreciated their own mothers only when they had children themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The survey of 2,000 people by the British Post Office for Mother&#8217;s Day this Sunday also reveals a long list of all the things she was right about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Treating people as you would like to be treated yourself was the advice most often mentioned, cited by 42 per cent of those questioned in the multiple choice poll.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Family comes first, life isn&#8217;t fair sometimes, and if you can&#8217;t say anything nice, don&#8217;t say anything at all are other popular pearls of wisdom passed on by mothers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than a third said they wished they had listened to their mums more, while a fifth say they have turned into a younger version of their mothers, with 31 being the average age when this happened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three-quarters of those polled will make a special effort to visit their mothers this Sunday, and of those who can&#8217;t, two-thirds will send a card and half will put a present in the post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Four in ten say that their mum is their best friend and they talk to them an average of eight times a week.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s official: Your mother really does know best \u2013 but most people don&#8217;t realise it until the age of 26, according to a survey. &nbsp; The poll shows that nearly half the population ignored the advice their mum gave them as they were growing up, only to look back and agree that it was actually [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6040,"featured_media":181122,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[107988],"tags":[799],"class_list":["post-185093","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-opinions","tag-mothers-day-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>New Poll Shows That Most People Ignore Their Mother&#039;s Advice Until Age 26 - Ghafla!
