Bungoma-based preacher claiming to be the ‘real Jesus Christ’ Eliud Wekesa has been detained for 4 days to allow police to continue with investigations.<\/p>\n

Wekesa was arraigned before Bungoma\u00a0<\/span>Principal Magistrate Tom Mark Olando a day after he presented himself to police after being summoned for questioning over\u00a0alleged questionable religious teachings.<\/span><\/p>\n

In court, the prosecution obtained a warrant to conduct a search on the controversial preacher\u2019s premises. The prosecution told the court that Wekesa\u2019s home\u00a0<\/span>is believed to be a crime scene that needs to be searched and relevant materials retrieved and preserved.<\/p>\n

\"Yesu<\/p>\n

According to a supporting affidavit submitted by Investigating Officer Elijah Acharia, \u2018Yesu Wa Tongaren\u2019 is facing charges including radicalisation, money laundering, acquisition, possession or use of proceeds of crime and managing an unlawful society.<\/p>\n
