{"id":188677,"date":"2023-05-22T14:21:16","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T11:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.com\/ke\/?p=188677"},"modified":"2023-05-22T14:21:16","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T11:21:16","slug":"pastor-ezekiel-can-now-access-his-bank-accounts-after-15-day-freeze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/pastor-ezekiel-can-now-access-his-bank-accounts-after-15-day-freeze\/","title":{"rendered":"Pastor Ezekiel Can Now Access His Bank Accounts After 15-Day Freeze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pastor Ezekiel Odero can now access his bank accounts after a 15-day freeze ordered by the court lapsed.<\/p>\n<p>The investigating officer, Inspector Martin Munene, confirmed in court on Monday that all banks had complied with the order and that he had no objection to the pastor accessing his accounts.<\/p>\n<p>However, Munene said that Safaricom had not yet complied with the order and that he would request the court to summon the company to produce data relating to the SIM cards in question.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/YkFjE5h8gldNb_EpZVFFquSS12oN_J4443-luqCslBQ7exsMcRNKQmQ82XBJaV3ZLmlsshazqacgP9nRBrpNudYeGyPNdzAo=s750\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The pastor&#8217;s lawyer, Danstan Omari, welcomed the news that the bank accounts had been unfrozen and said that his client was grateful for the court&#8217;s intervention.<\/p>\n<p>Omari also said that he would be seeking compensation from Safaricom for the inconvenience caused by the company&#8217;s failure to comply with the court order.<\/p>\n<p>The pastor was arrested on May 8 on suspicion of money laundering and was released on bail on May 10.
