President William Ruto said on Wednesday that he asked for forgiveness from his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, during last year’s National Prayer Breakfast.<\/p>\n

“I remember during the 2022 prayer breakfast I was asking for forgiveness from my friend the former President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Ruto said. “It is interesting that in our first prayer meeting, we are discussing forgiveness.”<\/p>\n
Ruto did not elaborate on what he asked for forgiveness for, but he said that he believes forgiveness is essential for healing and reconciliation.<\/p>\n
