On TikTok, Brian Chira revealed his HIV status to his fans and followers for the first time. He also occasionally posted videos of himself taking ARVs.<\/p>\n
He took this action to raise awareness and combat the stigmatization of HIV-positive individuals.<\/p>\n
The Tiktoker promised to talk about it when he was ready to, which he has already done, but he has never revealed how he contracted the illness.<\/p>\n
He explained how he contracted the virus and how he has been managing it during an interview with Oga Obinna.<\/p>\n
\n“I got invited to Mombasa by a friend for a party and it was to start at 9 pm but I arrived at 7 pm so I had to find a place to lie as I waited for time to pass, but I ended up not going.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The young man claims that he visited a friend along with two of his schoolmates who had brought their wives.<\/p>\n
\nWe had a few beers, and things started to escalate, but I felt cheated, so I reported what had happened and received prep medicine.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
According to the young man, he never really received the right directions on how and when to take the prescription, so he continued to believe he was well.<\/p>\n
He continues by saying that a buddy of his asked him to get tested three months later because he was working with an NGO that paid for people to get other people tested, and he is happy he did.<\/p>\n
“We did three tests and all of them came out positive so that’s when I knew I was positive and it was a tough moment for me.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The Tiktoker claims that he first informed the online community of his tragic news before telling his family.<\/p>\n
Although it was not an easy time, he said that through being positive, his family eventually came to understand his condition.<\/p>\n
