Amber Ray, has opened up about her experience of becoming a mother at the age of 17.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Mungai Eve, Ray said that becoming a mother at a young age was a challenge, but it also brought her and her son, Gavin, closer together.<\/p>\n
“I got pregnant at 17. It was by mistake. But he (Gavin) is the best child ever. He is my friend, maybe it’s because I was young when I got him,” Ray said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Ray said that her son has seen her at her worst, but that has only strengthened their bond.<\/p>\n
“He has seen me grow. It has not been easy, but he has seen me in all my stages. There was a time I used to live a flashy life, but it was given and then it was taken. We had to start from scratch. I was afraid because I did not know how he would take it, but God has been faithful. When I told him we had to downgrade, he was okay with it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Ray said that she sometimes wishes Gavin’s biological father was around to attend his school meetings, but that she has overall enjoyed her motherhood journey.<\/p>\n
“I hated attending school meetings. I wished his dad was present so that he can attend such meetings. But generally, I have enjoyed my motherhood journey.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
