Assets Recovery Agency is not a party to this case before you. Who has the custody of that exhibit?&#8221; the lawyers asked.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:129\">The prosecution responded by saying that they would provide documents to confirm the chain of custody of the money in due course.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:260\">The Ksh13.4 million was seized by police when they raided Kigunzu&#8217;s drug den in Ngara. However, last Friday, the High Court ordered that the money be deposited into the Assets and Recovery Agency\u2019s (ARA) preservation account at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"17:1-17:152\">Kigunzu was arrested <span class=\"citation-0\">at the Nairobi&#8217;s Central Business District (CBD) shortly after she had filed a petition in court to stop her imminent arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"19:1-19:248\"><span class=\"citation-0 citation-end-0\">At the time<\/span> of her arrest, <span class=\"citation-1 citation-end-1\">the police also recovered 26 bags of Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana), four cartons of rolling materials, 173 pieces of suspected blended drug\/bhang, and 42 cartons each containing 200 pieces of cigarettes<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nancy Kigunzu, popularly known as Mathe wa Ngara, has demanded answers on the whereabouts of the Ksh13.4 million that was seized from her alleged drug den during a police raid last week.
