The five MPs are Elisha Ochieng\u2019 Odhiambo (Gem), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Tom Ojienda (Senator of Kisumu County) and Phelix Odiwuor Kodhe (Lang\u2019ata).<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:154\">The NEC has instructed the party to remove the five MPs from the party register for supporting rival political parties and opposing the party&#8217;s decisions.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:233\">The decision was made at a meeting of the NEC that was convened by ODM leader Raila Odinga. The meeting was held in response to a report by a disciplinary committee that had been set up to investigate the allegations against the MPs.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:233\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-185648\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/03\/Jalango-with-Ruto-in-Migori-e1690252068392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"661\" height=\"546\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/03\/Jalango-with-Ruto-in-Migori-e1690252068392.jpg 661w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/03\/Jalango-with-Ruto-in-Migori-e1690252068392-300x248.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 661px) 100vw, 661px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:269\">The report found that the five MPs had violated the party&#8217;s constitution by associating with President William Ruto&#8217;s Kenya Kwanza alliance. The report also found that the MPs had opposed the party&#8217;s decision to support Raila Odinga for president in the 2022 elections.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:201\">The NEC&#8217;s decision to remove the five MPs from the party is a significant development in the run-up to the 2022 elections.
