He said he was advised that the newspaper thrives on negative news and that he has been the target of other negative stories. He also said that the story was not true and that he has a clean name.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:385\">The article in question was published by Citizen Weekly on September 12, 2023. It claimed that Jalango was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) along with several other politicians and a Kitui-based DCI officer. The article said that the suspects were found in possession of counterfeit gold and fake dollars, which they intended to sell to a Tunisian national.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:154\">Jalango denied the allegations and said that he was never arrested. He also said that he had never met the Tunisian national or any of the other suspects.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:45\">The DCI has not commented on the allegations.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:270\">The fake gold scam is a serious crime and it is important to take allegations of this nature seriously. However, it is also important to remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
