Okanga, who appeared before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:136\">The prosecution alleges that Okanga published a controversial video about President Ruto on his YouTube channel, Riba News@ribanews. The charge sheet states that Okanga intentionally published false statements on November 20, 2023, aimed at tarnishing the President&#8217;s reputation.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:131\">The die hard Azimio supporter urged the court to release him on bail, promising to adhere to any conditions imposed. The magistrate set bail at Ksh10,000.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:216\">Okanga&#8217;s arrest and prosecution stem from a recommendation by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) following his apprehension by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:100\">Okanga has been in the spotlight since the release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results last week.
