The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has reopened the Thika Superhighway at the Kahawa Sukari drift, located between Kahawa Barracks and Kenyatta University.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:127\">The section was temporarily closed due to flooding, but KeNHA has assured drivers that it&#8217;s now safe for travel towards Thika.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:245\">&#8220;The previous temporary closure due to flooding has been lifted, and road users can now access this section safely,&#8221; KeNHA stated in a press release. They expressed their appreciation for the public&#8217;s cooperation and patience during the closure.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"7:1-7:245\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/victoria-rubadiri-joins-cnn-with-a-new-role\/\">Read also; Victoria Rubadiri Joins CNN With A New Role<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"9:1-9:87\">It&#8217;s important to note that this update only applies to traffic heading towards Thika.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"11:1-11:166\">For your reference, KeNHA previously advised motorists traveling to Thika to use Kiambu Road as an alternative route, connecting to the Northern Bypass towards Ruiru.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"13:1-13:48\"><strong>Heavy Rains Cause Infrastructure Disruptions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"15:1-15:230\">Kenya has been experiencing heavy rainfall since mid-March, with the intensity increasing significantly over the past week.
