Jacky Vike, widely known as Awinja, recently addressed why she appeared to reject Radio 47 host Alex Mwakideu in the past.<\/p>\n
During an interview on Radio 47, Mwakideu jokingly reminisced about his past attempt at pursuing Awinja, saying:<\/p>\n
“Nilikukatia, ukanikataa.”<\/strong> (I made a move on you, but you turned me down.)<\/p>\n However, Awinja was quick to clarify:<\/p>\n “I would have said yes immediately\u2014I didn\u2019t reject him. He just wasn\u2019t clear about his intentions! You can\u2019t just take me out, buy me lunch, and expect me to figure out that you want to date me.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Mwakideu is now happily married to Mariam Mwemba, with whom he shares three daughters. The couple has been together for 18 years and married for a decade.<\/p>\n In celebration of International Women’s Day, Mwakideu took to social media to express his love and appreciation for Mariam:<\/p>\n “Happy International Women’s Day, my love! I celebrate you today\u2014not just because it’s your day, but because you are truly one of a kind. Your patience, kindness, and forgiving heart strengthen our love every day. The way you treat me like a king and respect my family speaks volumes about your beautiful soul. And speaking of beauty\u2014you are everything I ever prayed for and more. I am beyond blessed to have you by my side. Thank you for being the incredible woman that you are. I love you always!”<\/em><\/p>\n The radio host revealed that he first met Mariam in 2006 while he was still in another relationship.<\/p>\n “Mariam alinisumbua kweli! I pursued her since 2006, but she always said I wasn\u2019t ready.”<\/em><\/p>\n Things eventually shifted when he moved to Nairobi for work.<\/p>\n “I had a girlfriend but was still trying to win her over. When I moved to Nairobi, I told her I was single, and that\u2019s when she finally accepted me.”<\/em><\/p>\n In 2014, the two officially tied the knot, and Mwakideu remains steadfast in his commitment:<\/p>\n “We had our wedding in 2014… It\u2019s been a long journey, but I\u2019m never leaving her.
