When I do dancehall, fans barely notice. But the moment I switch back to the music people call \u2018dirty,\u2019 they go wild.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1385\">According to Ssaru, this kind of music isn\u2019t just popular\u2014it\u2019s profitable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1497\"><em data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1495\">&#8220;These songs bring in the most money, from streaming views to gigs. At the end of the day, it\u2019s business.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1586\">Interestingly, despite her high-energy performances, Ssaru prefers a quiet lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1588\" data-end=\"1744\"><em data-start=\"1588\" data-end=\"1742\">&#8220;I love making music, but I hate loud places unless I\u2019m performing or recording. In my free time, I\u2019d rather sleep or just chill at home doing nothing.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"1807\"><strong data-start=\"1750\" data-end=\"1805\">Spotify Recognition &amp; Times Square Billboard Moment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1986\">One of the defining moments of her career came when she was selected as the youngest artist to join <strong data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"1942\">Spotify\u2019s EQUAL Music Program<\/strong>\u2014an achievement she describes as humbling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1988\" data-end=\"2220\"><em data-start=\"1988\" data-end=\"2218\">&#8220;Being featured on the Times Square Billboard in New York was huge. People pay to get their faces up there, and your girl was on it\u2014for free. And mind you, I was only 19!
